England vs France - Rugby World Cup Quarter Final Preview
England will face a French team in their worst form of a generation. An inexcusable loss to Tonga and a record of two wins and two losses in the group stages is not deserving of a quarter final place, however, as we say every year in the Six Nations and at World Cups quadrennial, only a fool would write off the French. What is most evident in this French Squad is a distinct lack of trust between players and coaches as the players natural Gallic flair seems to be being stifled by the strange decision making of Marc Lievremont. The squad is littered with Heineken Cup winners and Top 14 champions, yet Lievremont just can't seem to get the best out of their skill or attitude. Before and after the game against Tonga, Lievremont could not even get his players to spend time together, admitting afterwards that they spent more time with their agents than each other and an attempted get together over a few beers that he had bought failed miserably with players sitting in many different areas of their hotel. This was the first indication Lievremont has given that he is trying to manage a divided squad.
